Program Overview

The GMD501 GMDSS Refresher Course is a 3-day program that refreshes knowledge of the Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS). It covers the competencies of STCW 1978 as amended, A-IV/2, and prepares students for roles requiring GMDSS operation and communication skills aboard ships. The course is delivered by Chris Lordan and is part of Te Pūkenga, New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology.
