The Direct-Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEN-Masters) is a three-year program designed for individuals with a bachelor's degree in any field who want to become registered nurses. The program combines classroom learning with hands-on clinical experience to prepare graduates for a career in nursing. The program has a 100% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX-RN licensing exam. The program consists of two phases:

  • Phase 1: The first three semesters focus on providing students with the fundamental knowledge and skills of professional nursing necessary for passing the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.
  • Phase 2: After licensure, students can work part-time as a registered nurse, gaining valuable clinical experience and building their professional network while completing the requirements for their master's degree during the last three semesters.

Admission Requirements

EU home students:

  • Bachelor's degree: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Prerequisite coursework: Completion of specified prerequisite courses, including:
  • Chemistry (no lab required): Basic Chemistry, Intro to Chemistry, or Intro to Chemistry for Health Professions will be accepted.
  • Human Growth & Development (aka Developmental Psychology)
  • Microbiology (must include content on microbes, no lab component required)
  • Human Nutrition (Exercise, sport, or weight control courses do not meet this requirement.)
  • Statistics (must include inferential statistics)
  • All prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum letter grade of C+ or higher.
  • Prerequisite coursework must have been completed within the past seven (7) years.
  • English Language Proficiency: For applicants whose first language is not English, a high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
  • TOEFL (minimum score of 89) or IELTS (minimum score of 6.5) scores must be submitted.

International overseas students (outside the EU):

  • Bachelor's degree: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university.
  • If earned from a non-US institution, a course-by-course credential evaluation documenting minimum equivalency of a US baccalaureate degree or higher is required.
  • Prerequisite coursework: Same requirements as EU home students.
