Outline:

The Bachelor of Applied Technology - Automotive Engineering is a three-year full-time program (part-time options available) delivered at the Unitec Mt Albert campus. It consists of 360 credits (3.0 EFTS) distributed across Levels 5, 6, and 7.

Level 5:

• Technology Skills 1 & 2: Develop effective investigation and learning skills for technology studies, understand industry structures, Treaty of Waitangi implications, small business practices, and use industry software.

Level 6:

• Sustainable Technologies: Investigate and integrate sustainable technology principles.
• Technology Practice: Investigate and apply environmental resource management and sustainability systems.

Level 7:

• Engineering Computer Aided Design: Gaining introductory knowledge and skills in Draughting and CAD.
• Automotive Electrical & Electronics: Analytically examine theoretical and practical aspects of vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
• Brake Systems & Steering and Suspension: Understand principles, applications, and procedures associated with these systems.
• Motor Trade & Spare Parts & Inventory Systems: Learn about motor trade regulations, business processes, and spare part concepts and inventory systems.
