The Bachelor of Arts with a major in general studies , self-designed studies concentration allows you to create your own learning experience. It demonstrates to employers and peers that you have the self-discipline and intelligence to work through a university-level program in a variety of subject areas.
Students in the general studies major may double major and are strongly encouraged to obtain a minor. The list of minors is impressive and includes communication, criminal justice, history and psychology. General Studies (Self-Designed) at Trine University
For all students:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Completion of 16 college-preparatory units, including:
- 4 units of English
- 3 units of mathematics (including Algebra I and Geometry)
- 3 units of social studies
- 3 units of science (at least one lab course)
- 3 units of electives
Additionally, international students (outside the EU)
must:
- Demonstrate English language proficiency through one of the following:
- TOEFL score of 80 or higher
- IELTS score of 6.5 or higher
- Completion of an English as a Second Language (ESL) program
- Submit official transcripts from all previously attended institutions
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- For all students:
- English language proficiency is required for all students, regardless of their nationality.
- Students whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency through one of the measures listed above.
- For international students (outside the EU):
- The minimum TOEFL score required is 80, with a minimum score of 20 in each section.
- The minimum IELTS score required is 6.5, with a minimum score of 6.0 in each section.
