Program Overview

The Correctional Security Officer Training program is designed for recently hired Adult Correctional Officers serving in BC Corrections. This program provides the skills required for Correctional Officers to supervise sentenced and remanded adult individuals in correctional centres throughout British Columbia.


Program Details

  • Duration: 18 months
  • Format: Blend of online and in-person courses
  • Block Training: Security Officer Orientation, Basic Security Officer training, and Advanced Security Officer training
  • Facilitation: Experienced officers facilitate the training
