Overview
The University of New Haven offers a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science degree that is academically rigorous and focuses heavily on the natural sciences. The program includes a curriculum that addresses various aspects of the criminal justice system and professional practices associated with careers in forensic science.
Mission
The mission of the Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science program is to thoroughly prepare students for careers in forensic science, natural sciences, and criminal justice professions, as well as post-graduate educational or training opportunities.
Objectives
The objectives of the program are:
- Students will be able to evaluate basic scientific principles to address problems encountered by forensic scientists.
- Students will be able to successfully carry out various forensic laboratory examinations and evaluate the range and limitations of these techniques.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to perform forensic analyses or related research in realistic situations.
- Students will develop an understanding of legal procedures, rules of evidence, and the ethical and professional duties and responsibilities of the forensic scientist.

Admission Requirements
The admission process can begin as early as the end of a student's high school junior year. The University offers full- and part-time opportunities for undergraduates from inside the U.S. and abroad.
Financial Aid Opportunities
The University offers a comprehensive financial aid program, with students receiving assistance in the form of grants, scholarships, student loans, and part-time employment. Funds are available from federal and state governments, private sponsors, and from university resources. More than 85 percent of the University's full-time undergraduate students receive some form of financial assistance.
