Program Overview

Te Reo Kaupae Tahi is a 40-hour professional development course offered by UCOL that introduces learners to the basics of Te Reo Māori language and pronunciation. Through interactive lectures, group discussions, and practical exercises, participants gain knowledge in greetings, numbers, introductions, and marae customs. Assessment includes participation, assignments, and a mihimihi presentation, opening up career opportunities in Te Reo Māori teaching, translation, and cultural advisory roles.
