Program Overview
The MA Filmmaking program at UWS equips students with the skills to pursue careers in various film industry roles, including directing, producing, and cinematography. The program emphasizes developing students' unique voices and provides hands-on experience through core modules and a final master's project film. With a 95% post-graduation employability rate and connections to the Scottish and international film industry, the program offers students a strong foundation for success in the field.
Program Outline
The program aims to equip students with the skills to work professionally in various roles within the film industry, including:

The program consists of two stages:
- Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip): Students study the following core modules:
- Advanced Documentary Film Practice (40 credits)
- Advanced Fiction Film Practice (40 credits)
- Development Lab (20 credits)
- Film as an Industry (20 credits)
- Master's Film Project (60 credits): Students create a final master's project film and receive £500-£2500 for production costs.
