EU and UK Students:

The entry requirements for EU and UK students differ depending on the year in which you wish to start the program.


Year 1 Entry:


Standard Entry Requirements:

  • Scottish Highers : BCCC (90 UCAS Tarrif points), including Maths/Applications of Maths
  • A Levels: CCD (88 UCAS Tariff Points), including Maths
  • Irish Leaving Certificate: H3 H3 H3 H4, including Maths
  • International Baccalaureate: 24 points, including HL Maths
  • Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP): Access to STEM (Grades BBB)
  • SQA HNC/BTEC Level 4 HNC: Relevant subject and for SQA awards, must include Engineering Mathematics 1

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • CCCC (84 UCAS Tariff points), including Maths/Applications of Maths
  • If your qualifications don't meet the standard or minimum requirements listed above, alternative routes to entry are available through:
  • An HNC qualification with relevant mathematics content.
  • UWS summer school.

Year 2 Entry:

  • Direct entry to 2nd year is possible with an appropriate HNC qualification.

Year 3 Entry:

  • Direct entry to Year 3 is available with a relevant HND or BTEC Level 5 HND qualifications.

International (Non-EU) Students:

  • For Year 1:
  • Equivalent qualifications to Scottish Highers with BCCC (90 UCAS points), including Maths.
  • An IB diploma with 24 points or equivalent, including HL mathematics.
  • SQA HNC in a relevant area.
  • UCAS Tariff score of 120 points in relevant subjects.
  • For Year 2:
  • HND qualifications with at least 120 UCAS Tariff points in a relevant subject area.
  • UK Diploma/Foundation degree with an overall average of 50-59%.
  • Completion of Year 1 of a related degree at another institution with an overall average of 50-59%.
