Program Overview

The Master of Science in Medical Nutrition is a graduate degree program designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of nutritional science and its application in healthcare. This program is ideal for current and future healthcare professionals, including gap-year students, medical students, residents, fellows, and practitioners seeking to develop a strong knowledge base in nutritional sciences.

Program Description

The Master of Science in Medical Nutrition program emphasizes self-directed learning with immersion in current nutrition research. Students develop foundational knowledge of nutritional assessment techniques used by healthcare providers in clinical practice and become well-versed in making recommendations grounded in evidence-based practice. This non-thesis program supports students focusing on the health professions, particularly pre-professional students in their gap years or those who want to expand their education after completion of a didactic program in dietetics or receiving registered dietitian nutritionist licensure.
