Course Structure:
The course is delivered entirely online, spanning 12 weeks in Semester 1, commencing on September 23, 2024. No on-campus attendance is required.

- Presentations (30%): Students will prepare and deliver a 5-minute individual video presentation on a chosen aspect of education in two contrasting nations. Possible topics include initial teacher education (ITE), educational progression, assessment methods, and gender dynamics within education.
- Written Assignment (70%): Students will select one country's educational system and analyze its strengths, limitations, and potential for adaptation within their own national context. This critical analysis should be presented in a 4000-word essay.

Entry Requirements:
EU Home Students:
- Applicants must normally have gained:
- a degree from a recognized university in the UK or Ireland, or
- an equivalent qualification (normally 50% or higher) in a Graduate Diploma, Certificate, or Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma, or
- another approved alternative qualification, such as a professional qualification.
- Applicants must also be currently working in a teaching or training environment.
- Please note: this Short Course does not qualify you as a teacher.
International Overseas Students (outside the EU):
- The entry requirements are the same as for EU Home Students.
- Additionally, international students whose first language is not English must meet the minimum English language entrance requirements of the University and will need to provide recent evidence of this (certified within the last two years).
- Most courses require a minimum English level of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with no band score under 5.5. Trinity ISE: Pass at level III also meets this requirement.
