PhD in Counseling Psychology
The PhD program in Counseling Psychology is a scientist-practitioner model program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). The program focuses on training professional psychologists and provides a solid foundation of knowledge in the biological, cognitive, affective, individual, and social bases of human behavior.

State Licensure
The PhD in Counseling Psychology satisfies the educational requirements for licensure in Wisconsin but does not satisfy the educational requirements in other states. Students should check the licensure requirements in their state of interest.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the Graduate School at Marquette University, applicants must:
- Have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution or international equivalent
- Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale

Financial Aid
New full-time doctoral students have been supported by part-time research assistantships through the department. Scholarships and fellowships are also available.
