Program Overview

The Peace Studies major at Marquette University equips students to become agents for positive change by immersing them in the theory and practice of nonviolent peacemaking, human rights, and conflict resolution. The program allows students to explore peacemaking on personal, interpersonal, and systemic levels, and prepares them for careers in fields such as restorative justice, development, humanitarian action, and government. Graduates develop critical thinking, creativity, and valuable skills like strategic thinking, conflict resolution, and effective communication.
