Master of Science in Finance Program

The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program at Suffolk University is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the financial industry. The program is available in full-time and part-time formats, with the full-time option taking as few as 9 months to complete and the part-time option taking as few as 21 months.

Program Overview

The MSF program consists of 31 credits and is offered in on-campus, hybrid, and online formats. The online option is only available for the fall semester in a part-time format, and students must be able to waive out of prerequisite courses to be eligible.

• Corporate Finance
• Financial Services & Banking
• Financial Technology (FinTech)
• Investments
• Risk Management

Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to provide students with a high-level understanding of corporate finance, portfolio management, investment banking, and international finance. The program is STEM-designated and affiliated with the CFA Institute and the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the program, students must submit:

• A completed application
• A $50 application fee (waived for students who visit campus or attend an event)
• Resume
• Unofficial transcripts of all post-secondary work
• Goal statement (essay)
• Reference/recommendation
• Official TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, or PTE-Academic scores (for international students)

Tuition and Financial Aid

The current tuition and fees for the program can be found on the university's website. Suffolk University offers both merit- and need-based financial aid to graduate students, with awards of up to $20,000 per academic year.

4+1 Program

The university also offers a 4+1 program, which allows students to earn their MSF in as few as 16 months. This program is available to senior undergraduate students and recent graduates.

Students also have access to professional development workshops and lifelong access to the tools and resources offered by the Center for Career Equity, Development & Success.
