Course Overview

The Barista Essential Skills course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to demonstrate competence in using commercial espresso equipment to prepare and present espresso beverages.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of coffee origins, beans, harvesting, and fair-trade requirements. (17284)
  • Explain roasting, blending, decaffeination, and storage & handling of coffee beans. (17284)

  • Demonstrate knowledge of making espresso and other beverages using commercial espresso equipment. (17285)
