EU Home Students:
- NCEA Level 2: Completion of NCEA Level 2 with specific subject requirements based on the desired pathway. For example, the Digital Technologies pathway requires 14 credits in Mathematics, 14 credits in Science, and 14 credits in English.
- Alternative Requirements: If you haven't completed NCEA Level 2, you may be eligible for alternative entry based on work experience, life experience, or previous study.
International Overseas Students (outside the EU):
- NCEA Level 2 Equivalent: Completion of an international qualification equivalent to NCEA Level 2. Ara will assess your qualifications for equivalency.
- English Proficiency: You must demonstrate English language proficiency through an approved test or qualification. This includes IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic, Cambridge English Qualifications, or an Ara English Language Assessment.
Additional Requirements for All Students:

Language Proficiency Requirements:
- IELTS: Overall score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each band (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking).
- TOEFL: Minimum score of 80 with a minimum of 20 in each section (Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing).
- PTE Academic: Minimum score of 58 with a minimum of 50 in each communicative skill (Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking).
- Cambridge English Qualifications: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a minimum score of 176 in each skill.
