Syllabus Pre-intensive course programme

The Pre-intensive Course for Programming comprises 75 hours.


Preparation Week

There is a preparation week before the pre-course, during which you will need to prepare yourself with some of the learning content in advance. All activities in the preparation week are to be completed on demand and at your own pace. You will have access to all learning materials in a shared cloud folder one week before the start of the pre-course.

  • Allocation of workload:
    • 10 hours: Video lectures, readings & introductory tasks (preparation week)
    • 26 hours: Live sessions
    • 38 hours: Self-study
    • 1 hour: Final Exam/Project presentation
  • Assessment weighting:
    • 20%: Participation (online attendance)
    • 20%: Solving Exercises during practical Sessions
    • 60%: Online Final Exam

  • Cloud: Before starting the course, you will receive access to our cloud learning platform for all on-demand lectures.
  • Zoom: You will need to have a free Zoom account set up ahead of the course, in order to join the live sessions during the course.
  • Other Software: For this course, you will need to download Java Virtual Machine and Eclipse IDE. You will be provided with additional instructions ahead of the course.
