Legal Administrative Assistants (LAA) qualify for a variety of administrative support positions in corporate offices, law enforcement agencies, government services including court services and Crown Counsel, federal, provincial, and municipal offices, notaries public, insurance companies, financial organizations, correctional institutions, and real estate offices.
These diverse workplaces require assistants that have a higher skill set, knowledge base, and keen multitasking abilities. Program Outline
Courses
The program is divided into eight courses, as listed below. The first is an overview of general legal procedures, followed by five courses covering specialty areas of law.

- Practicum
Practicum
At the end of the Legal Administrative Assistant program, you will complete a two-week practicum that provides you with meaningful work-like experience and exposure to the legal field. In order to qualify for the practicum module, you must have successfully completed all previous coursework with a grade percentage of 85%.
Graduation
When you've completed all required courses and met the grade requirements, you can apply for graduation by following the instructions here. Please note there is a graduation application fee.
Once your graduation application is approved, the Office of the Registrar will contact you by email when your parchment is ready to be picked up.
