Academic Qualifications:
- BPS Accredited Undergraduate Degree: Applicants must hold a BPS accredited undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related field. This degree should demonstrate a strong foundation in psychological theory and research methods.
- BPS Accredited Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology: Applicants must also hold a BPS accredited Masters degree in Forensic Psychology. This degree should provide advanced knowledge and skills in the application of psychological principles to forensic settings.
- Equivalence of BPS Stage 1 Training: Alternatively, applicants may possess qualifications deemed equivalent to BPS Stage 1 training in forensic psychology. This typically involves demonstrating a comparable level of knowledge and skills obtained through other accredited programs or professional experience.
Extensive Applied Forensic Psychology Experience:
- Demonstrated Experience: Applicants must demonstrate extensive experience in applied forensic psychology. This can be evidenced through:

Recommended Experience:
- Minimum 1 Year Experience: We recommend at least 1 year (full-time) of experience in these roles.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
- RPL for Prior Certified Learning: We accept RPL for this program, specifically for prior certified learning. This means students can demonstrate previously demonstrated competency in areas assessed within the program.
- Assessment of RPL: RPL is assessed individually. Applicants should contact the Course Director with evidence of their RPL for further guidance.
English Language Proficiency:
- IELTS Level 7: Students must evidence English language skills of IELTS level 7 with a minimum of 6.5 on each subtest.
Approved Placement:
- Mandatory Approved Placement: Before starting the program, students must have an approved placement where appropriate supervised experience is offered by the placement site.
- Employment as Placement: For some students, their employment can be used as the placement (e.g., forensic psychologists in training employed by justice or health organizations).
Occupational Health Screening:
- Students not using their current employment for their entire placement will need to engage with an Occupational Health screening process.
