Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


UK Applicants:

  • Minimum entry requirement is a 1st class or 2:1 degree in a sports-related discipline.
  • Exceptional cases with significant coaching experience without a degree may be considered.
  • Interviews required for all applicants.

International Applicants:

  • Minimum entry requirement is a Master's degree in a sports-related discipline with distinction or high merit level.
  • Applicants with appropriate qualifications but non-sport-related Master's degrees considered.
  • Extensive related work experience and/or qualifications in coaching/coach education considered.
  • Current postgraduate students forgoing their original Master's dissertation to transition directly to the Doctorate in Sport Coaching program are also considered.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • International applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English language fluency equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or above.
  • All program entrants must be actively coaching.
