Program Overview
Introduction to the Law LLM Program
The Master of Laws (General LLM) provides a challenging general legal education at graduate level. This program is designed for individuals interested in law but have not identified a particular area of specialty, offering flexibility and choice in constructing their own program of law studies.

- You can construct your own programme of law studies drawn from the full range of courses on offer.

- The University has a very vibrant mooting programme and a dedicated Moot Courtroom, with an outstanding record of success in internal, national, and international mooting competitions.

Programme Structure
- You will take six courses and submit a dissertation as falling within the area.
- Courses are delivered through a blend of lectures and seminar-style teaching.
- For the Law LLM, you can choose any courses within the School of Law's LLM portfolio to suit your academic objectives and to build on your knowledge for future employment or academic specialisation.
- For the dissertation, you can choose between a written dissertation or a collaborative dissertation research project with a partner organisation.

Tuition Fees
- Home & RUK: Full-time fee: Ł11,943, Part-time fee: Ł1,327 per 20 credits
- International & EU: Full-time fee: Ł29,355
Deposits
International and EU applicants are required to pay a deposit of Ł2,000 when an offer is made.
Additional Fees
- Fee for re-assessment of a dissertation (PGT programme): Ł370
- Submission of thesis after deadline lapsed: Ł350
- Registration/exam only fee: Ł170

Entry Requirements
- 2.1 Hons (or non-UK equivalent) in Law.
- We may also consider a UK 2:1 Honours degree, or its international equivalent, in international relations, politics, or a relevant social sciences or humanities subject area.
- English language requirements:
- IELTS Academic: 7.0 overall with no subtest less than 6.5
- TOEFL: 96 overall with no subtest less than Reading 23; Listening 23; Speaking 23; Writing 24
- Pearsons PTE Academic: 70 overall with no subtest less than Reading 62; Listening 62; Speaking 75; Writing 68
- Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE) and Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): 185 overall with no subtest less than 176
- Oxford English Test: 8 overall with Reading and Listening no less than 7 and Writing and Speaking no less than 8
- LanguageCert Academic/Academic Online: 75 overall with two subtests no less than 75 and two subtests no less than 70
- Password Skills Plus: 7.0 overall with no subtest less than 6.5
- Trinity College Integrated Skills in English III: No subtest less than 105
- Kaplan Test of English: Two subtests no less than 500 and two subtests no less than 480
- University of Glasgow Pre-sessional courses: Tests are accepted for 2 years following date of successful completion.
