Program Overview


The MSc in Computational Geoscience at the University of Glasgow equips students with applied data science and modeling skills to address complex geoscience challenges. Through laboratory practicals, computing workshops, and fieldwork, students develop expertise in computer programming, predictive modeling, and big data analysis, preparing them for careers in the geoscience sector or further research in earth science fields.

You will develop applied data science and modelling skills which you can use to address complex real-world challenges and support decision-making in geoscience fields. Over the summer, you will undertake a research project in an area of interest to you, which will be supervised by a member of the MSc teaching staff. Assessment methods include analytical reports, and oral and poster presentations, designed to reflect real working environments.
