Overview

The Geospatial Engineering MPhil and PhD at Newcastle University aims to foster, promote and conduct research of international quality. We attract high-quality graduates and researchers and train them to international standards.

Entry Requirements

Academic entry requirements

A 2:1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a relevant subject. However, combinations of the following can be taken into consideration:

English Language requirements

We require IELTS 6.5-7.0, Pearson's PTE Academic 62-70, or Duolingo English Test 105-120, or TOEFL 90-100.

How to Apply

Before you start

  • Start Dates: There are usually three possible start dates, although in some circumstances an alternative start date can be arranged: September, January, April.
  • Closing Dates: There is no application closing date for this course, but specific deadlines for funding may apply.
  • Specialised application information: Before you apply you should find and contact a research supervisor from the School of Engineering. Getting the right supervision is critical for your research. You should contact the School to begin discussions about your proposed research at the earliest opportunity.
  • Deposit: If you are an international student or a student from the EU, EEA or Switzerland and you need a visa to study in the UK, you must pay a deposit of £1,500 or submit an official letter of sponsorship.
  • ATAS (Academic Technology Approval Scheme): You may need an ATAS clearance certificate. You'll need to get this before you can get your visa or study on this programme.
