Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

  • Students must have achieved the New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (Level 5) in Fire Protection or an equivalent qualification.
  • Students who have not completed the New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (Level 5) in Fire Protection may be eligible for entry if they have:
  • Completed a relevant engineering qualification at Level 5 or above.
  • Completed a relevant trade qualification at Level 4 or above and have significant experience in the fire protection industry.
  • Completed a relevant degree qualification and have significant experience in the fire protection industry.
  • Students who do not meet the above requirements may be considered for entry on a case-by-case basis.
  • Factors that will be considered include:
  • Relevant work experience in the fire protection industry.
  • Prior academic achievements.
  • Personal qualities and motivation.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • Students whose first language is not English must demonstrate a level of English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 (academic).
  • Students may meet the English language proficiency requirement by:
