Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


UK Students:

  • Honours degree at a 2:2 level (or equivalent) in a computing or information and communications technology related subject.
  • Higher National Diploma with distinction, in a computing discipline, including relevant industrial experience or an alternative equivalent qualification that can demonstrate potential to succeed on the programme.

Additional Requirements:

  • **GCSE passes in Maths and English.

Academic Requirements:

  • Honours degree, equivalent to a UK 2:1 or above, with a relevant subject.
  • Higher National Diploma or equivalent, with an overall distinction and relevant industry experience.
  • Other equivalent qualifications that demonstrate a strong academic foundation and potential.

English Language Requirements:

  • IELTS
  • score of 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.
  • TOEFL iBT score of 80 or above with minimum section scores.
  • PTE Academic 58 overall with no section below 50.
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): Grade A
  • Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): Grade B
  • Meeting one of the English language proficiency requirements above is a mandatory prerequisite for all international applicants whose native language is not English. International applicants who meet these requirements will not be required to complete an additional English language foundation program.
  • Students with an equivalent level of qualification from the USA and Canada may also be considered.

Important Notes:

  • The faculty may consider applicants without formal academic qualifications but with substantial relevant professional experience.

Home/EU Students:

  • A minimum overall grade of C in GCSE English Language or a Scottish National Certificate of English at Grade 3, taken before or alongside your other qualifications listed.

International Students:

  • An IELTS score of 6.5 with 6.0 in each band or equivalent, as listed above.
