Pathway 1:
- Graduate from any CODA-accredited dental assisting program.
- Have a preference of 5 years of dental assisting experience. If you do not meet this experience requirement, your entrance will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Find your own externship site with a written signed affiliation agreement.
- Have current hands-on CPR/Basic Life Support certification.
- Have current First Aid certification.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Pathway 2:
- Have current Certified Dental Assisting (CDA) certification through DANB.
- Have a minimum of 3,500 hours of approved work experience with a preference of 5 years of dental assisting experience. If you do not meet this experience requirement, your entrance will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Find your own externship site with a written signed affiliation agreement.
- Have current hands-on CPR/Basic Life Support certification.
- Have current First Aid certification.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Additional requirements:
- Pass a manual dexterity test. The program will contact you to schedule this test after you have reached program-ready status.
