Crisis and Trauma Counseling Certificate

The Crisis and Trauma Clinical Counseling Certificate involves a three-course series within the Counselor Education program designed for counselors, clinicians, and treatment specialists who wish to provide trauma-informed care to crisis and trauma survivors. This certificate enhances qualifications and competencies in client-centered trauma-informed interventions as well as the ability to engage in program development and implementation through a comprehensive understanding of the impact of trauma on functioning, resilience, and wellness.

Program Details

• The certificate is available to non-degree seeking individuals that are currently enrolled in or have completed a Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling or a related discipline.
• Students currently enrolled in PBA's Counselor Education program are not eligible for this certificate, but can complete these courses under the concentration in Crisis and Trauma Counseling.
• The certificate is a total of 9 credit hours spread over three eight-week courses, to be completed in six months, but not to exceed three years.
• A minimum of a 3.0 GPA is required across all courses for the certificate to be awarded; courses cannot be replaced with transfer credits.
• All courses are provided in a completely distance learning format inclusive of synchronous didactic face-to-face interaction with professors and classmates.
