This course consists of a research dissertation on your choice of original topic relevant to health and wellbeing.
Course Overview
This course consists of a research dissertation on your choice of original topic relevant to health and wellbeing. You will demonstrate your individual strengths and subject knowledge in every step of this project’s creation, engaging in design, delivery and evaluation of your study with a keen understanding of frameworks, methodologies and health science applications needed to carry out your work effectively. Applicants will be refreshed on health and wellbeing at a postgraduate level, able to move on to subsequent research skills training or to take training while working on this dissertation.

Entry Requirements
- The minimum academic entry requirement is 120 level 7 credits or a completed Post-graduate Diploma at level 7 (Master’s level) in any health, welfare or social care related discipline.
- You may also need to attend an interview and to give a 10 minute presentation on your academic progress to date and your ideas for a Master’s level independent research project.
- If you have not studied research methods in your previous PG Diploma, or an equivalent, within the past 5 years you may need to take a research methods module to prepare you for your MSc / MA top up course.
- If English is not your first language you will need to have a TOEFL score of 550 or above, or an IELTS score of 6.5 or above, or evidence of English proficiency equivalent to these scores.

These fees relate to new entrants only for the academic year indicated for entry onto the course, any subsequent years study may be subject to an annual increase, usually in line with inflation.
Funding
- Postgraduate Loyalty Discount: You can get 20% discount on a taught postgraduate course if you’re a University of Wolverhampton Graduate.
- Self-funded: If you are paying for the fees yourself then the fees can be paid in 3 instalments: November, January and April.
- Sponsored - Your employer, embassy or organisation can pay for your Tuition fees: Your employer, embassy or organisation agrees to pay all or part of your tuition fees; the University will refer to them as your sponsor and will invoice them for the appropriate amount.
- Financial Hardship: Students can apply to the Dennis Turner Opportunity Fund for help with course related costs however this cannot be used for fees or to cover general living costs.
- Charitable Funding: You might also want to explore the possibility of funding from charitable trusts. Please contact Association of Charitable Foundations, Directory of Social Change or Family Aid. Most charities and trust funds offer limited bursaries targeted to specific groups of students so you will need to research whether any of them are relevant to your situation.
