Program Overview

This GIS program is designed for professionals in various fields who need to manage and use GIS. It offers eight compulsory courses, including topics such as GIS software, remote sensing, and internet mapping. Graduates may find employment opportunities in private companies, nonprofits, and government agencies as cartographers, GIS technicians, and surveying technicians. The program is offered part-time and online, with early registration recommended.

• Global Positioning Systems (CSMO 34)
• Internet Mapping (CSMO 47)
• Remote Sensing (CSMO 24)

Required (Choose one):

• Access - Core (CSLO 6)

Graduates may find employment opportunities with private companies and nonprofit organizations, as well as city, regional and federal agencies as:

• Cartographers and photogrammetrist
• Mapping technicians
• Surveying technicians

Other:

• The program is designed for practitioners who are managers, technical professionals, and support staff responsible for managing and using GIS.
• The program is also designed to appeal to people from varying disciplines such as Urban Planning, Civil and Transportation Engineering, Resources, and Business.
• To successfully complete this program, participants must complete eight (8) compulsory courses.
• The demand for part-time courses has increased, so it is recommended to register early to ensure acceptance into the course.
• Online courses are easily identified by "CS" at the beginning of the course code.
• Textbooks and additional materials may be required for these courses.
