Program Overview

This advanced dental education program in Temporomandibular (TMD) and Orofacial Pain provides clinical assessment and treatment skills for these disorders, within the context of graduate education that focuses on research skills and a scientific knowledge base. Students gain experience in managing a variety of orofacial pain conditions, focusing on diagnosis, management, and integrating care with the patient's physical, behavioral, medical, and psychosocial situations. The program combines clinical training with an MS degree in oral sciences and prepares graduates for careers as dentists specializing in TMD and orofacial pain, pain management specialists, researchers, or educators.
