Programme Overview

The BA (Hons) Game Design programme is a three or four-year international route that introduces students to the fundamentals of the creative industry and provides the opportunity to refine a career path in game design.

Faculty of Creative Industries

The programme is part of the Faculty of Creative Industries, which aims to attract the most creative minds to generate expert professionals who will be equipped with the creative and practical solutions required in the professional graphic design landscape.

Programme Structure

The programme consists of three years of study, with the option to take a foundation year for international students. The programme is divided into three terms per year.

Programme Fee

• Hamburg: €11,000 (international students) | €8,450 (EU students)
• Foundation International Route: €11,000 (international students) | €8,450 (EU students)

Entry Requirements

• Foundation International Route: Minimum age 17, ECCTIS UK equivalent to GCSE
• BA (Hons): Minimum age 18, school leaving certificate with a pass to pursue higher education in Germany, or international baccalaureate, international school leaving certificates, BTEC
  ational diploma or advanced vocational certificate of education

English Language Requirements

• Access to Proof of English Guide (UCA) available

Portfolio Submission

• Required for year 1 entry, submitted online via the BSBI Applicant Portal
• Should contain up to 12 pieces of work, including audio or video files

Career Progression

• The programme leads to diverse career opportunities in the game design industry, including roles like AI Designer, Rendering Programmer, and Cinema and Game Designer.

Learning Outcomes

• Apply good knowledge of English to communicate relevant international, cultural, contemporary knowledge and historical, theoretical and professional contexts.
• Research and analytical skills to examine and interpret various aspects of game design.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the contexts, concepts, and technologies within the field of game design.

Technical Equipment

• Students are required to bring a laptop, with recommendations for a design-friendly mobile laptop available.
