Program Overview

The Statistics program at UMBC offers a strong foundation in theoretical and applied statistics. Students can choose from two tracks: applied statistics or mathematical statistics. The applied statistics track focuses on practical applications in fields such as biology, business, and engineering. The mathematical statistics track emphasizes mathematical theory and analysis. Both tracks provide a comprehensive education in statistical methods and prepare students for careers in various industries or further study in statistics or related fields.
