Admission Requirements
Entry Requirements:
- Students must have a high school diploma or its equivalency. However, students without a background in the sciences or humanities may find it beneficial to take introductory courses in these areas before beginning the certificate program.
Additional Details:
- The certificate requires a minimum of 24 credits.
- Students must earn a minimum grade of 'C' in all courses applied to the certificate.
- Students must complete the following course requirements:
- HCST 100 - The Human Context of Science and Technology (3 credits)
- Four additional courses from a minimum of two disciplines (12 credits). At least one course must be HCST 499 - Advanced Topics in the Human Context of Science and Technology.
- Nine credits of science, mathematics, or engineering courses designated as Science (S) or Math (M) GEP, or taught by the College of Engineering and Information Technology, the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, or with approval of the director, science- or technology-based courses taught by the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
- Students can choose from a variety of approved courses in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering.

- The certificate program is designed to be flexible and can be tailored to the individual interests of each student.
