Program Overview

The Human Development and Family Sciences program with Teacher Certification in Family and Consumer Sciences prepares students to teach in Texas public schools (grades 6-12). The curriculum emphasizes communication literacy, with a sequence of four courses to enhance students' communication skills. Students must meet College of Education requirements and achieve satisfactory performance on the TExES Certification Exam to be recommended for certification.
