Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


Domestic Students:

  • Applicants must have completed a New Zealand bachelor's degree with a major in a relevant field such as health sciences, medicine, nursing, public health, psychology, or social sciences.
  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 in their final year of study.

International Students:

  • Applicants must have completed an equivalent bachelor's degree from a recognized institution with a major in a relevant field.
  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 in their final year of study.
  • Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language by achieving a minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic test, with no band score lower than 6.0.

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicants may be required to provide a statement outlining their reasons for wishing to study public health.
  • Applicants for the research pathway must have a confirmed supervisor and topic.

Language Proficiency Requirements:


Domestic Students:

  • N/A (English is the official language of New Zealand).

International Students:

  • Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language by achieving a minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic test, with no band score lower than 6.0.
