Outline & Schedule Overview:
Year 1: Focus on Fundamentals and Foundational Skills; 120 Points Required
- First-year Core Courses: Understanding Business, Accounting for Decision Making, Economics Markets and Law, Digital Systems, Managing Change, Statistics for Commerce (15 points each) + 2 Elective or Major Courses (15 points each). Each Major requires specific first courses, so selection might impact electives here.
Years 2 & 3: Building Expertise and Preparing for the Future
- Courses split between required Core, Major coursework, and General Education studies
- Total: 24 courses over 3 years (360 points)
- Year 2: Business Consulting (Core), Major courses (3 x 15 points), General Ed course (15 points), Additional Major or Elective (optional, for double majors etc.)
- Available Entry Points: Midyear intake in July 24
- Full/Part-Time Completion: Can be adjusted to student preferences
Entry Requirements:
For domestic students:
There are two pathways to entry for domestic students:
University Entrance (UE)
You must meet the University Entrance (UE) standard, which means you need to achieve:
- NCEA Level 3: 14 credits in each of three approved subjects (including two literacy subjects) and 12 credits in each of two further approved subjects.
- Cambridge International Examinations (CIE): A minimum total score of 170.
- International Baccalaureate (IB): A minimum total score of 26.

Language Proficiency Requirements:
All international students, whose first language is not English, must demonstrate English language proficiency by achieving the following scores:
- IELTS Academic: 6.0 overall, with no band lower than 5.5.
- GCE A Level/CIE: 6.0 overall, with no band lower than 5.5.
Additional Requirements:
- Secondary School Qualifications: You may need to have studied certain subjects or achieved credits in particular subjects.
- Undergraduate Targeted Admission Scheme (UTAS): This scheme is for students who have experienced educational disadvantage and demonstrate the potential to succeed at university.
- Preparation and foundation programme: This program helps students improve their academic skills and knowledge before starting a degree program.
- Special admission: This option is available for students who are 20 years or older and have no formal University Entrance (UE) qualification.
- Discretionary entrance: This option is available for students under 20 years old who have no formal University Entrance (UE) qualification.
- Admission for students under 16: This option is available for students under 16 who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and maturity.
