Master of Business Administration MBA

Programme Overview

The Master of Business Administration is a postgraduate programme that aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in senior leadership positions. The programme is delivered online, providing unparalleled flexibility for students.


Programme Structure

The online MBA programme is taught on a quarter-based system, with each quarter consisting of online classes delivered twice weekly in the evenings. In the final quarter of the programme, students will have the opportunity to work alongside a New Zealand or international business in an advisory capacity, developing strategic recommendations for growth locally and/or internationally.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible to apply for admission to the University of Auckland MBA, domestic applicants must have:


  • A relevant bachelor's degree from a recognised university with a GPA/GPE of 5.0 or higher in at least 60 points in the most advanced courses
  • Or completed a postgraduate diploma or master's degree from this University, or equivalent, with a GPA/GPE of 5.0 or higher
  • Or been awarded a PhD from this University, or equivalent
  • Or a relevant bachelor's degree and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business from this University with a GPA of 5.0 or higher
  • At least three years' relevant management experience
  • Demonstrated appropriate qualities as determined by the Faculty of Business and Economics

Fees and Scholarships

The indicative tuition fees for the 180-point MBA (1.5 years) for domestic students are $46,960. Note that travel costs associated with in-person intensives are additional. Courses are paid per quarter. Fees are set in advance of each calendar year and will be updated on the University's website.

The Master of Business Administration is only available to domestic applicants. Application closing dates are:


  • Quarter Two 2026: 1 March 2026
