The one-year course develops your knowledge,

You'll study four modules
- Compulsory modules
- Contemporary Issues in Learning and Teaching (30 credits)
- The aim is to develop students’ professional knowledge and practice through engaging with contemporary education issues and their implications for learning and teaching. It also explores diversity in its relation to learning and teaching.
- Learning without Limits (30 credits)
- Students will have opportunities to critically engage with creative pedagogy to offer children meaningful learning experiences in diverse subjects. It encourages students to relate their academic learning to practice, supporting their professional development.
- Professional Practice in Learning and Teaching (30 credits)
- Reviews students’ professional development and identifies strengths to enhance their professional roles. Students explore both theoretical and personal perspectives about reflective practice within educational contexts. The module also includes exploring the use of technology in classrooms.
- Education Research Project (30 credits)
- Fosters a critical approach to education research. Students conduct independent research, develop research skills like data analysis and interpretation, for informed decision making. It also allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations to enhance their teaching experience.

Qualifications:
- Passed the FdA Learning and Teaching with a Merit or Distinction grade
- Have 240 CATS points, from a relevant HND or Foundation Degree with Merit or Distinction
- GCSE English and Maths at minimum grade 4 or grade C or equivalent
- Made a successful application to us for accreditation of prior learning experience
- Equivalent qualifications together with maturity and experience are taken into account when considering entry requirements
- Relevant work experience. Ideally, working or volunteering in a relevant role to support learning and teaching; typically for 2.5-4 days a week
- Employer's reference from your headteacher (or equivalent) stating their support for your application. We will consider you if you can demonstrate how you would benefit and how likely you are to complete the course. You will need the appropriate level of numeracy and literacy to support learners in schools, as well as in undergraduate study.
Mature students (over 21):
- We welcome applications from mature candidates, including those without formal qualifications, provided you can demonstrate relevant experience and ability.
Academic credit:
- If you have a qualification such as a foundation degree or HND or have gained credit at another university, you may be able to enter a Middlesex University course in year two or three. Find out how you can transfer courses.
- If you have relevant qualifications or work experience, we may be able to count this towards your entry requirements.
