This programme allows professionals working at senior level to utilise their experience and knowledge gained at work towards academic awards at the highest level.

About Your Course
What Will You Study on the DProf Centre for Decision Analysis and Risk Management?
The components of the programme are:
- Review of your learning – which may lead to a claim for accreditation of prior learning
- Programme planning and rationale in which you'll set out your intentions for future study
Once you complete this, you'll continue with research and development in professional practice and project work, as well as attend an expert seminar programme.
The taught elements of the programme consist of seminars and project work. While different elements of the programme attract different credit points, it's the totality of the experience that constitutes the programme – there is no hierarchy of experience.
Teaching
How is the DProf Centre for Decision Analysis and Risk Management Taught?
You'll be assigned an academic advisor at the start of the course who will be available to you throughout your study.
As your work develops, you'll also work with one or two subject specialists whose expertise you can benefit from. You'll also have handbooks and online materials to help you throughout your studies.
You'll also be invited to seminars, workshops and lectures at our Hendon campus. Although you'll all be studying independently, we encourage our DProf students to meet with and support each other.
Facilities
Our Bio and Medical engineering students study within a new eco-friendly centre specially-built for science and technology.
Our bioscience suite is equipped with an incredible range of equipment for analysing environmental samples.
Our dedicated Cell and Tissue Culture Lab is essential to cancer, reproductive, stem cell and nano pharmaceutics research at Middlesex.
Our Computer and Communication Engineering Labs will give you access to a wide range of advanced equipment and software.

To be eligible for this DProf, we normally require a Master's degree or above, or an overseas equivalent qualification.

Fees and Funding

UK Students
Part-time students: £5,500 per year
EU/International Students

Funding
Funding or studentships for research degrees are limited, and most research degree students are expected to pay their own fees and subsistence costs.

- Both equivalent to traditional PhD awards

Entry Requirements:
UK entry:
- A Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Technology, or a professional doctoral degree in Engineering and Technology).
- At least a 2:2 or equivalent.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in decision analysis and risk management.
- Individuals with other qualifications and/or extensive experience are also encouraged to apply.
EU/International entry:
- A Master's degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency at IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
- At least a 2:2 or equivalent.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in decision analysis and risk management.
- Individuals with other qualifications and/or extensive experience are also encouraged to apply.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English.
- EU/International students whose first language is not English must achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.
