Program Overview

The New Zealand Certificate in Animal Healthcare Assisting (Level 4) (Companion Animal Healthcare) program equips students with the skills and knowledge to support veterinary nurses and veterinarians in clinical practice. Through a blend of on-campus and online learning, simulated zoo rooms, and industry placements, students gain practical experience in animal communication, husbandry, handling, infection control, and clinical assistance. Graduates are eligible for registration on the New Zealand Register of Animal Healthcare Assistants and can pursue further studies in veterinary nursing.
