Program Overview
The Music with Foundation program at Durham University is a four-year program designed for students from underrepresented groups in Higher Education. The program focuses on developing essential music skills, knowledge, and understanding through a combination of lectures, tutorials, and practical classes. Students are expected to be self-motivated and independent learners with a strong commitment to their studies. Program Outline
Structure:
- Year 1 (Foundation):
- 120 academic credits
- 20 hours of taught content and 10 hours of tutorial/seminar support for every 15 credits
- 100 hours of self-directed study for every 15 credits

- Concepts, Methods, and Theories in Arts and Humanities
- Scholarship in Higher Education (Extended)
- Advanced Scholarship in Higher Education for Arts, Business, and Social Sciences
Teaching:

The tuition fees for 2025/26 academic year have not yet been finalised, they will be displayed here once approved. The tuition fees shown for home students are for one complete academic year of full time study and are set according to the academic year of entry. Fees for subsequent years of your course may rise in line with an inflationary uplift as determined by the government.
