Overview

The Certificate of Graduate Study in Global Gender Advocacy is a fully online program that equips students with the skills and knowledge to analyze social injustices and implement best practices for advocacy within and across national borders. This program is ideal for international students or professionals working in non-profit or policy arenas.

  • Topics in Women's Studies

This certificate program can be completed as a standalone credential or as part of the master's program in women's, gender, and sexuality studies. The credits earned may also be transferable to other graduate areas.

Student Learning Objectives

  • Apply feminist and related theories at an advanced level, addressing intersections of gender, race, class, sexuality, nation, and/or other axes of difference and inequality
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies as an interdisciplinary field of study and research, developing skills in at least one field new to individual students
  • Have the opportunity to bridge theory and practice by engaging in feminist pedagogy experiences or doing internships in community organizations
