Program Overview


Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology

The Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in School Psychology program at the University at Albany is designed to prepare students for a career as a school psychologist. The program is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and meets the education requirement needed to become a certified school psychologist in New York State.


Program of Study

The 73-credit CAS curriculum includes an embedded 30-credit master's in educational psychology that is required for permanent NYS certification as a school psychologist. The program is divided into five main areas:
