Our Managing AI in Business postgraduate programme is designed to develop versatile leaders who can harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) while effectively managing businesses. Programme Structure

The programme runs over three trimesters, and consists of nine 15-credit core modules and a final, elective 45-credit module. For this final module, you'll choose from the dissertation, internship, entrepreneurial development project, consultancy project or work placement.

  • Principles of Business AI: This module delves into definition and concepts of AI and business strategy, equipping you with a comprehensive understanding of AI in the corporate landscape.
  • AI Governance and Sustainability: This module offers a comprehensive exploration of the intersection between AI sustainability, encompassing three fundamental areas: economic, social, and environmental sustainability aligned with the United Nations' seventeen sustainability goals.
  • AI Prompt Engineering for Business: This module focuses on the practical aspects of crafting effective prompts for AI systems.
  • AI in the Workplace: This module explores the transformative influence of AI on organisations, emphasising effective change management in key business areas such as HR, leadership, workspace dynamics, and workforce integration.
  • Business Application and AI Tools: This module offers a comprehensive review of cutting-edge AI tools and technologies, unravelling their strategic impact on organisational processes.
  • Responsible Technology: This module will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the contemporary landscape of technology ethics, including AI and information ethics, and includes issues such as regulatory and governance frameworks, sustainability, privacy and equality.
  • AI in Practice: This module invites AI practitioners as guest speakers to provide real-world insights.
  • Cyber Security & Information Management: This module provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices essential for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets within organisations.
  • Research Methods for Managers: An applied module that focuses on practical research methodologies and techniques for conducting research within the workplace and prepares you for your final elective module.

Final Elective Module

You will then choose one of the following 45-credit options:


  • Work Placement: You will have the opportunity to choose a work placement as your final elective module.
  • Business Dissertation: You will select a particular topic you are interested in for further in-depth study.
  • Business Internship: A 3-month experiential opportunity within an organisation, focusing on real-world project management issues.
  • Entrepreneurial Development Project: An experiential learning opportunity where you will conduct market and business environment research to identify a business idea or venture and develop a business plan.
  • Business Consultancy Project: An experiential opportunity where you will work with clients to solve live business problems.
