Program Description:

The program consists of four compulsory modules, each worth 30 credits, and a 60-credit research project. It is offered on a full-time (one year) or part-time (three years) basis.


Full-time learners:

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


Undergraduate Studies (MSc Advanced Physiotherapy):

  • A recognised professional qualification in Physiotherapy, UK or overseas.
  • Plus a 2:1 undergraduate honours degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy.
  • Or a 2:2 Undergraduate honours degree in Physiotherapy with at least 1-year clinical practice supported by appropriate references.

Important note:

Applicants without a Physiotherapy qualification cannot register for the full MSc Advanced Physiotherapy program and will not be awarded the degree.


Undergraduate Studies (Single Modules):

  • To complete Single Modules , applicants must have:
  • A 2:1 undergraduate honours degree or equivalent in a relevant healthcare subject.
  • Or a 2:2 Undergraduate honours degree in a relevant healthcare subject with at least 1-year clinical practice supported by appropriate references.

International Students:

  • The university accepts qualifications from all over the world.

Salford Alternative Entry Scheme (SAES):

  • The university welcomes applications from students who may not meet the standard entry criteria but can demonstrate their ability to succeed in higher education.
  • Students who lack conventional entry requirements may apply via the Salford Alternative Entry Scheme.

Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL):

  • The university welcomes applications from students with relevant experience or the potential to succeed in the course, even if they lack formal academic qualifications.
  • The APL process assesses your work and life experience to grant course entry or exempt you from parts of the program.
