Program Overview
Extending Advanced Practice (Level 7, 30 credits)
Overview
This 30 credit Extending Advanced Practice (EAP) module is for students who already hold a postgraduate qualification and are working at an enhanced level. It is designed to enable you to continue your development within your current area of practice or to extend your skills into other areas of imaging as you progress toward advanced or consultant practice.
Key Features
- Further develop your clinical scope of practice
- Be supported to develop toward all 4 pillars of advanced practice
- Enhance your professional role as a leader and educator within your specialist area of practice
Course Details
EAP is a flexible module and may accommodate individual requirements for enhanced practice to enable you to achieve your career goals or meet service needs. For niche areas, it may not be possible for the academic team to provide a full curriculum, and your mentor and clinical site may be required to provide subject-specific teaching. You will need to supplement this with a large proportion of self-directed study.
Method of Assessment
You will be assessed by submission of a Clinical Record of Achievement, which must include evidence to demonstrate your ability to work across all 4 pillars of advanced practice, and Viva Voce to demonstrate your enhanced clinical skills.
Entry Requirements
- You will hold a degree in BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or other healthcare professional qualification, 2:1 or above, and possess postgraduate credits.
- For clinically related modules, you will also have access to a relevant imaging caseload and support of a clinical mentor.
Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)
We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully. The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count.
