Overview

This course will further understanding of the core responsibilities of evidence recording and collection at the crime scene and develop a deep understanding of the role of a SOCO across a range of scenes.

Course Structure

The course includes lectures, crime scene practicals, and lab work.


What You Will Learn

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:


  • Preserve and protect the crime scene to ensure integrity of evidence
  • Compile dynamic forensic strategies, including anti-contamination, Health and Safety, and risk management
  • Determine the appropriate procedures when recovering evidence from a digital crime scene
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct advanced photography and video recording to supplement scene attendance notes
  • Assess and correctly disseminate intelligence of a crime scene
