Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


For EU home students:

  • Confirmed (or predicted) Merit or above at MA level in ancient history, archaeology, classical studies, classics, history or a related discipline.
  • A distinction in the dissertation.

For international overseas students:

  • The same academic requirements as EU home students.
  • English language requirements:
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 7.0, with not less than 6.5 in each of the sub-tests and at least 7.0 in writing.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • For international students whose native language is not English, or who have not previously studied in English, the minimum requirement is an IELTS Academic Test score of 7.0, with at least 6.5 in each sub-test and 7.0 in writing.
