Program Overview


The Paediatric Eye Care standalone module at Aston University enhances knowledge and clinical skills in paediatric optometry. This module can be taken independently or as part of the Optometry Flexible Framework, where participants can progress to the PgCert, PgDip, and MSc programs.

  • Paediatric contact lenses
  • Communication with children and parents
  • Eye care in children with special educational needs and disabilities

Aston University accepts a variety of English language tests, including:

  • PTE Academic: 61 overall with a minimum of 55 in each component
  • Cambridge English: Advanced or Proficiency with a minimum of 169 in each component
  • For UK students, the minimum English language requirement is GCSE English Language or Literature at grade C or above.
  • The deadline for applications is 25 January 2024.
  • The course is part-time / distance learning and starts in March 2024.
