Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements


Canadian Applicants:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with the following completed courses or their equivalents:
  • Grade 12 English (ENG4U or equivalent)
  • Grade 12 Mathematics (MDM4U or equivalent)
  • Grade 12 Biology (SBI4U or equivalent)
  • Grade 12 Chemistry (SCH4U or equivalent)
  • A minimum overall average of 70%.

International Applicants:

  • Completion of the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas program.
  • English language proficiency test results as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Original transcripts of all post-secondary education translated and evaluated.

Language Proficiency Requirements

  • International applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English by achieving the minimum scores in one of the following tests:
  • TOEFL (IBT): 88 overall with no less than 21 in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
  • IELTS Academic: 7.0 overall, with no less than 6.5 in each band.
  • MELAB: Minimum 85% overall with no less than 80% on each component.
  • CAEL: Minimum 70 overall.
  • PTE Academic English Test: Minimum 65 overall.

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicants must not have been convicted of a criminal offense or an offense under the Narcotic Control Act (Canada) or the Food and Drugs Act (Canada).
  • Applicants must not be involved in professional misconduct, incompetence or incapacity in Ontario or any other health profession.
  • Applicants must not suffer from any mental or physical disorder that deems them unfit for nursing practice in the public interest.
  • Canadian students living outside of Ontario are not eligible to apply.
  • Admission requirements for this program may also be met by completing the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas program.
  • Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission to the program.
